Matt Denure played baseball for Gordie in his first few years at Ripon University. Matt was a walk-on in his first year and under Gordie’s tutelage Matt improved fast enough to be drafted by the Phillies after his senior year. Matt has been a teacher and coach at Portage High School for 23 years where he tries to pass on to his students what Gordie taught him.
